HWF felicitated 394 Muslim students of UP

New Delhi/Lucknow October 24: The Delhi-based Human Welfare Foundation and PM Fondation Kerala has felicitated 394 meritorious students belonging to Muslim minority community of in a Award Distribution Ceremony held at Baradari Qaisar Bagh Lucknow. Besides, 03 schools were also felicitated on this occasion and were given mementos and citation for their good performance in the last three academic sessions.The awardees students were those who scored more than 60% marks in Board Examination for the academic session 2009-10. Each of the students was given Cash Award of Rs 1000 and Certificate of Merit and Medal.

The Award for Academic Excellence - 2010 is meant to encourage the students to continue performing better in future.. Prof. K.A. Siddiq Hassan, General Secretary, Human Welfare Foundation who attended the Function as Special Guest. Addressing the students and their parents, emphasized the role of education in the development of our country.
In the function Best Minority educational Institution Award 2010 has been given to three minority institutions. These institutions are Faiz e Aam inter College Faizabad,Jafar Memorial Girls School Faizabad and Iqra Public School Phoolpur Azamgarh ,They are awarded with Mementos and certificate.
The function was presided over by Moulan Rabe Hasani Nadvi Nazim Nadwatul Ulama Lucknow. He congratulated the awardees and Orgnisers of this Mega event.Justice Nazim Zaidi of Allahbad High court Lucknow Bunch Particepated as Chief Guest. A number of other dignitaries who attended and given their speachs in the program included Justice Gafoor Chairman PM Foundation Kerala,Ex advocate General UP SM Kazmi,Sharfuddin,CH Abdurrahim Trustee PM Foundation,Ameer e Halqa UP East Moulana Waliullah Saeedi Falahi.

Relief work by SBF in Kanpur

Uttar Pradesh 10th October: SBF, a sister organization of Human Welfare Foundation provided relief material about 500 food packets to flood affected victims of Kanpur. The SBF is giving the relief material to flood affected victims for last ten days.
Meantime, SBF also organized Free Medical Camp at Rahmat Nagar, Bangarmau, Unnao in U.P.
The regional co-ordinator of SBF was also present and he himself distributed relief material to flood affected victims and he made his presence also at free relief medical camp.

HWF held a meet of Regional Co ordinators at Headquater

New Delhi 20th Oct: A meeting of Human Welfare Foundation was held on 19-20 October, 2010 at Jasola Office. The national co-ordinator from all the states who are actively working on the projects of vision 2016 in different parts of India made their valuable participation.
Siddique Hassan, general secretary of Human Welfare Foundation said that the main emphasis of vision 2016 is to bring a change in the society which must be seen, felt and witness by the people.
He said that I have started Human Welfare Foundation so that the social service and work related to it can be done in a planned and systematic way and within a stipulated time and that is the reason I have given time limit of vision 2016 and the projects and targets of the projects of social service must be completed within 2016.
He said that we have to also merge other small NGOs to work on social service.
The are many schemes of government and non government but muslims do not utilize fully and these are due to lack of awareness and knowledge, he emphasized. He said that our co-ordinators should made translation of “A Guide to uplift muslims” a valuable book in which many schemes of government is already mentioned and the people can benefit. Siddique Hassan appealed the co-ordinators to arrange necessary data of a particular state which will be an essential asset for working of welfare of the society.
He also said that we should make the utilization of young talent who are awardees by human welfare foundation and the students who get scholarship. He said that some of their time should be implemented for the work of social welfare and if they have some interest then some of these students can be helped for doing those courses which will be an asset and helpful for the welfare of society and they will strive for the progress of downtrodden section of the society. The foundation will help them for taking up the courses like NGO management, SSW etc so that they can be helpful for future endeavors of the community.

APCR Karnataka Chapter Begins

Bangalore:“A person of faith should be having two ambitions—first is to achieve success in the hereafter and enter into garden of paradise, and the second should be to establish social justice in this world in order to create a happy and prosperous society,” said Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, National Convenor of Association for the Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) in the inaugural programme of APCR’s state office here on October 17. Highlighting the contribution of APCR in protecting civil rights in India, he said that after Gujarat carnage, APCR, in coordination with other human rights organizations had fought for justice and achieved results. When Gujarat Home Minister was behind the bars, the people were asking when would be the turn of Modi. He said “our efforts are for humanity and for persecuted class. Government has passed ‘Right to Education Act.’ We want the ‘Right to Food Act’ to be promulgated at the earliest.”
Mr. Irshad Ahmed Desai, Convenor APCR-Karnataka presenting the report of State Chapter, said “prompt intervention by APCR’s activists averted a communal clash in Chickamagalur where some miscreants had thrown pork inside the Masjid. After the riots on 3rd March in Shimoga and Hassan, police had arrested 121 persons in Shimoga and 54 in Hassan. Out of 121 arrested in Shimoga 37 were non-Muslims. APCR intervened and was instrumental in getting released 100 persons including 17 non-Muslims.” Mr. Irshad also presented the report of different programmes that were held for educating APCR volunteers. The programmes include workshop on RTI by Shaik Shafeeque Ahmed, an RTI activist. A programme was held on the occasion of visit of APCR’s National President Mr. Yusuf Hatim Machala, a veteran lawyer to the city.
Advocate Akmal Rizvi, Secretary, APCR-Karnataka highlighted future plans of the State Chapter. The programmes include release of prisoners, innocent people, and convicts who have completed their term. Many persons were in prison merely because they did not have legal and financial aid. And the other programme is to help correct the public distribution system (PDS). Mr. Akmal said, “On trial basis we will first take-up this project in Koppal and later implement it in entire state. Because this is the system which will give some kind of relief to poor people who are affected by price-rise and market economy.”
Mr. K.M. Ashraf an industrialist from Tumkur in his presidential remarks reminded the Muslims about their prime duty of serving the humanity without discrimination on the basis of cast, colour, and creed. He applauded the efforts of APCR.

RICKSHAW DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMM IN ASSAM

ASSAM 15 October: TEN Rickshaw Cycle has been distributed to the BPL family members of Assam with the Financial Assistance received from Human Welfare Trust, New Delhi- 25 under Self Employment Scheme of VISION-2016. The Project will be a Revolving one. The Price of one Rickshaw is Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only). Each beneficiaries will refund the Capital Amount @ Rs. 30/- (Rupees thirty only) per day. In this way he will refund the capital amount within one year. The ownership of the Rickshaw will be the Trust till the whole amount is repaid. No interest or profit will be taken from them for the Rickshaw, but they will have to pay a one time processing fee that is 5% of the capital money for the office expenses to run the project. Separate Deed of Agreement has been signed with each Beneficiaries.The Rickshaw distribution Ceremony was held at Hazrat Omar Model Academy, Howly on 11.10.2009, where Sri Binoy Saha, Vice Charman, Howly Town Committee and Smt. Tumpa Saha, Ward Commissioner, Howly Town was present. Moreover Prof. Dewan Abdul Qadir, A Senior Member of Jamaat, Prof. Mujeebar Rahman, Zila Nazim, Barpeta, Dr. Dewan Nazrul Qadir, Secretary, SSD, JIH, Assam(A), Mr. Azizul Hoque, Principal, Hazrat Omar model Academy and many others were present.

Academic Excellence Award – 2010 Assam is an initiative of Human Welfare Foundation, New Delhi, “The Award for Academic Excellence - 2010 (Assam) is meant to encourage the students to continue performing better in future. It is to motivate the minority students for performing excellently in their academic studies. It is to be noted that the Higher Secondary Examination Results of Muslim Community in the state is not satisfactory during the recent years,” said Prof. K.A. Siddiq Hassan, General Secretary, Human Welfare Foundation who attended the Function as Special Guest.
Addressing the students and their parents, Prof. Hassan, who is also working on the Vision 2016, a mega socio-economic empowerment program, emphasized the role of education in the development of our country. “Therefore, we are making every effort to improve the quality of life of the neglected sections of this society through the Vision 2016 program,” he said.
