Two days workshop in Assam by SBF



Tezpur, Assam: December27 & 28: The society for bright future (SBF) a part of Vision 2016 and a national NGO looking after disaster management organized a state level two days Workshop on Disaster Management for Volunteers at An Noor Model School, Tezpur, Assam on 27th and 28th December 2010.Mr. Aquil Ahmed, co-ordinator of SBF introduced the SBF and said that this NGO came into establishment to look after the disaster management in India. He also highlighted the work of Vision 2016 and Society for Bright Future.

Dr. Dewan Nazrul Qadir, Regional Coordinator, Vision-2016 said that the North Eastern states of India are very sensitive from many types of disasters like flood and earthquake and it is very essential to have a volunteer group to work at the time of disaster.

On behalf of Civil Defance Department, Tezpur Mr Upen Ch. Kalita, Mr. Pathak and Mr. Gautam Sarma participated the workshop and trained the volunteers with practical training and demonstration of different methods of Disaster Management. The Programme was attended by 65 volunteers hailed from different places of Assam. The workshop was presided by Maulana Shams Ahmed, President, Assam Falah Society. Amongst the other prominent personalities Maulana Kefayat Ullah, Mr. Asis Hussain, Mr. Abdur Rouf attended the programme. The Programme was concluded with the concluding speech and Dua of Maulana Kefayat Ullah.

HWF & PM Foundation awarded 449 students of Bihar


Bihar (Patna) 19th Dec.: The Delhi-based Human Welfare Foundation and P. M. Foundation, Kerala jointly held a ceremony of award for academic excellence in Patna, and awarded 449 Muslim meritorious students and 3 state topper of Board Exams namely Miss. Anupam Neha, Miss. Khushboo Kumari and Rahul Kumar on 19th December at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, North Gandhi Maidan, Patna. The selected students awarded by certificates, mementos and cash prizes who passed the 2010 Board Exams with more than 60 per cent marks. The three state toppers were felicitated with cash prizes, certificates and shield also.

The 449 best meritorious Muslim students were selected among one thousand applicants who scored with first division marks in the Bihar board examinations held in 2010. The selected students have secured 67% or more marks in the Bihar board exams.

On this occasion, chief guest of the programme, Justice of Patna High Court, Hon’ble Justice Nayyer Hassan appreciated the efforts of HWF and P. M. Foundation for organizing such programme in Bihar to encourage meritorious students and appealed the community leaders to come ahead for upliftment of the community.

Prof. K. A. Siddique Hassan, General Secretary of HWF said that last year after the success of Award for academic held in Lucknow, U.P. we are trying to benefit large number of meritorious Muslim students from more states. He further said that this year we organized awards for academic excellence apart from U.P. also and these states are West Bengal, Assam and Bihar.

Hassan appealed both appeared students of Bihar board exams and appearing students to do well in the upcoming examinations and career and develop the nation and generate opportunity and fight with poverty and illiteracy and serve the weaker section of the people which is the main purpose of human being.

This year HWF awarded 1643 meritorious Muslim students of four states in U.P. 394 students, in West Bengal, 500, in Assam, 300 and in Bihar, 449

Human Welfare Foundation has taken many measures for the upliftment of Muslim community among them some are scholarship distribution to poor students, award for academic excellence, The areas of work of HWF are Education, Health, Poverty Alleviation, Women Empowerment, Disaster Management, and Protection of Civil Right.

SBF organised Training for Disaster Management in Araria, Bihar




Araria Bihar: SBF, a sister organization of Human Welfare Foundation organised a training programme for volunteer on Disaster Management at Evergreen Hotel in Araria, Bihar. The training programme was held for two days on 16-17th December.
SBF will organize such more programmes in other state also to impart training to volunteers so that they can work better at the time of disaster.
SBF decided to give training to volunteers on disaster management in view of flood which are being seen in recent years in Bihar also.
About 100 volunteers from all over Bihar participated in this training programme.
Nayyaruzzaman sb, Nazim-e-Halqa of JIH elaborately highlighted on the topic disaster management. He also emphasized how to minimize losses at the time of disaster. He said that the disaster is of many types like flood, fire, earthquake, riot and wind. There are natural disaster and also accident and mishap. We have to look after all these which causes losses of property and lives and badly affect people at large. He further said that the main purpose of organizing such training progarmme is to give awareness to the general masses also to minimize losses of lives and property and soon rehabilitate them.
He also gave message of Islam and said that Islam teaches us to help our brother at the time of calamity and need and to serve the people at the time of disaster is the best social service.
He also brought some good doctors and given training on first aid services and how to help the affected people at the time of calamity.
Aquil Ahmed, co-ordinator of SBF briefed about SBF a sister NGO of HWF, Delhi.
He said that SBF, Society for Bright Future is mainly working for disaster management and providing relief and rehabilitation to affected people in India.
He gave introduction of SBF and its purpose.
He said that Jamaat-e-Islami Hind is being active for long time to provide relief and rehabilitation to disaster affected people in India. So, due to felt of special NGO for providing relief and rehabilitation in an effected way to affected people it came into establishment.
He said that recently when Jamaat organised Members of JIH meeting in Delhi, SBF played a good role by providing awareness to people, placed its special stall for round the clock to provide immediate first aid services and to look after disaster management services.
SBF has recently provided relief and rehabilitation to the flood affected victims of Dhobi Ghat, Batla House, New Delhi and some state of U.P. also.

FM Prenab Mukherjee Inagurated The scholor School In West Bengal





Kolkata 4th Dec.: Inaugural function of Scholar School was held on 4th December, 2010 at Bagnan, a rural village near Kolkata in West Bengal. The scholar school was inaugurated by the central finance minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
Our country will not be listed higher until we do not earn superior technology”, he said in his inaugural speech.
He further said that our ambition is to give technical education to young generation and make them skillfull.
He congratulated HWF for establishing scholar school which will also impart technical education.
He said that by 2050 India will have 70 per cent young population and they can be used in technical field after giving technical training and education and making them skillful power for the nation.
Kazi Abdul Razack presented a citation to Union Finance Minister and thereafter Pranab Mukherjee unveiled the foundation stone of the scholar school. HWF is spending Rs. 30 crore for establishing this modern residential school.
Union Minister of Tourism Mr. Sultan Ahmed congratulated HWF for selecting Bagnan, backward rural village to start the residential school for boys and girls and he offered a sum of Rs. 10 lakhs to the scholar school from MP’s fund.
H. Abdur Raqeeb, founder trustee of human welfare foundation, New Dehli said that minorities and marginalized section suffer from development because of lack of education and economic backwardness. HWF is concentrating on primary education and most modern education.
Mr. Rahmath Ali Khan, State President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and Mr. Masheehur Rahman, Secreatry General also spoke and thanked Mr Kazi Abdur Razack for the grand success of the function. Besides the ministers and thousand of local residents, state congress president Manas Bhuiya, Mr Pradip Bhattacharya, Mr Asit Mitra and others attended and lauded the services of HWF.
