SBF orgnised Training programme on Disaster Management


New Delhi : SBF conducted Training programme on Disaster Management in West BengalOn 19 & 20 June’2010. Society for Bright Future (SBF) Organised a state level two days training programme on disaster management at Iqra Model Academy,Champdany, Hooghly, West Bengal . The camp inaugurated with the recitationof Holy Quran by Molana Riayazuddin Falahi. On his welcome address Mr. AquilAhmad, Co-ordinator of SBF said, “The geographical structure of India causes manynatural disasters every year. We cannot stop these but we can reduce the casualtiesby spreading awareness among people, he said that there is a planning for preparingtrained volunteer core group in each state as it is already started to give trainingto 130 volunteer in West Bengal.” He also formed five groups of volunteer to studyand plan relief activities related to incidents like flood, cyclone, earthquake, fire, &landslide etc. which is most needed in their districts.Several Government officials delivered their lecture and practically demonstratedhow to do disaster management works, rescue, relief & rehabilitation etc. Mr. JonabAli Mondal, SDDMO, spoke on the topics awareness Generation, governmentassistance to the victims of disaster. During his speech he emphasized that, noproject can be implemented properly without the public participation. He also said,we have to take the matter for a survival cause.Mrs. Bandana Guha, BDMO, spoke on “Types of Disaster”. She said how peoplesuffer by various types of disaster. Sandip Biswas, BDMO spoke on ‘DisasterManagement Act’, ‘Flood Scenario of Bengal’, ‘School safety and disastermanagement’, ‘Gender issues and trauma counselling’. He emphasized that childrenmust learn swimming.Besides, Mr. Ashoke Sadhukhan-Civil Defense officer, Dr. Shamim-Commander St.John Ambulance, Monoj Banerjee-BDMO, Tapan Ckaroborty-SDDMO, Mr. P.Mitra-BDMO also spoke on “Different problems during Disaster & Rescue operation”, “firstaid”, “Pre-Post disaster phase”, “Cyclone” and “earthquake” respectively etc.Dr. Masihurrahman Secretary JIH West Bengal spoke on “Khidmate Khalq Allahko raazi karne ka jariya”.
